ID 1383  Sky Replay - Placeholder - End of Service

- The video stream is now carrying a closure announcement slate. 

- End of Service and Placeholder flags have been added.

The end of service / placeholder flag combination preserves any recordings for a short period following a channel closure.

 

 

Service Removal - System Service:

Deprecated system service removed from the SI after being dormant for a long period.

 

 

FAST Service Removal: 

TSID      8  -  SID     852  -  ID 2343  VEVO '90s & '00s  -  FAST Channel Portal - Internal Networks Only.

This service failed to launch, the SI data has now been removed from the 3 internal networks which carried the pre-launch configuration.

 

 

FAST Service Removal: 

TSID      8  -  SID    854  -  ID 2340  Real Life  -  FAST Channel Portal - Placeholder - End of Service.

This FAST service has been removed after 245 days in placeholder status. It is unknown why the service was in placeholder status as FAST services cannot be recorded, so there would be no recordings to preserve.

 

Internal Service Removals:

Various "project" services removed from internal networks. The purpose of these services was never identified. This service was only available on 1 internal network, TTA Knowsley DMC (Hayes_RHE).

 

Pop-up Service Removal:

This placeholder service has been removed after preserving recordings for 277 days, exceeding the usual 3 month retention period. 

Any recordings will no longer play.

Although technically just a rebrand, the original occupant of ID 2152, the BBC ONE South East IPTV test, has been removed and the service has been repurposed as an inactive transport stream marker for TSID 30.

Remnants of the test services believed to have been used to test frequencies during network upgrades. In some areas, the original cable build meant that some frequencies were attenuated. Broader frequency ranges opening up as individual networks were upgraded. The video and audio streams of these test services have not been active for many months and the remaining SI entries have now been removed. 

These services were on 13 regions on the Barnsley (4), Knowsley (2), Preston (2), Haringey, Liverpool TDN, Preston TDN, Southport & Code Download Test (Portsmouth) networks.

 

 

Service Removal - Inactive Transport Stream Marker: 

TSID 389  -  SID  38901  -  Dummy 38901  -  Inactive TS Marker - Internal TS - SDT Only.

As with most inactive transport stream markers, this service had a USID of 0. It was used to mark the old transport stream 389, used for early 4K tests. The tests have long since been removed. Originally on an old Manchester TRIALS network, which has subsequently been removed with the NID being reassigned to Wrexham.

 

 

Transport Stream 30:

Much of the SI structure was removed for the IPTV tests but this hadn't been an active transport stream for a very long time. In an unusual move, the Cable Delivery System records have now been restored for this transport stream. Frequencies originally used by the transport stream were reassigned and, in the new records, a frequency of 0 kHz is allocated, which obviously isn't a valid frequency.

 

Legacy TSIDs 27-45 have been free of services for a long time. Although the frequencies have actually been reassigned, cable delivery systems still have frequency allocations for TSIDs 42 & 45 and now a 0 kHz allocation for TSID 30. Maybe TSIDs 30, 42 & 45 could be the next batch of SI removals. TSID 29 also has some leftover SI data with an inactive transport stream marker present but no CDS records.
